I don't think the sweet summer plum gets the recognition it deserves. The sweet and tart stone fruit is the star of this crumble. It is an easy dessert but has a show stopping color and flavor. The vibrant fruits are topped with a vanilla almond crumble and with just a hint of cinnamon to round out the flavor. The bright flavors of summer blended with a little warmth and spice of the coming fall season.
These macarons were inspired by my favorite “I just need a little chocolate” treat. Trader Joes dark chocolate almonds with turbinado sugar and sea salt. If you haven’t tried them, you need to! For the patisserie version of these treats, chocolate macaron shells are dip in dark chocolate and sprinkled with turbinado sugar and flaked sea salt. Then, filled with dark chocolate almond ganache and sliced almond pieces.
Signs of spring have begun to pop up in our yard. Tender little mint leaves have shown up and these cupcakes are the result. Fresh mint is the star of the show in these mini mojito cupcakes. It is the perfect balance with lime, is fresh, and not over whelming A rum butter cake is topped with white chocolate rum buttercream and lime curd. Then, it is all toped with a lime mint sugar and fresh mint leaves.
