Pear and Rosemary Infused Vodka (& a cocktail recipe)

So, I'm not a very patient person but this infused vodka is definitely worth the wait!

Basically you only need three ingredients to make infused vodka (or any liquor). An airtight glass bottle or jar, vodka, and whatever you want your vodka to taste like. For me, that was cute little forelle pears and fresh rosemary sprigs.

I cut my 3 pears into thin slices then, added them and two sprigs of Rosemary to a jar with an airtight lid. Then, I poured in enough vodka to cover all of the pears and Rosemary.

Then... You wait... This is the hardest part. My vodka infused for 1 week. I know that's not that long but I'm more of an instant gratification kind of person. Here is what it looked like after 7 days.

Once the long wait was over, I strained out the pears and Rosemary and poured the vodka back into the airtight container. You can also use another decorative one if you want to gift your now delicious concoction. Have I mentioned this makes a great Christmas gift? Hint hint.

Now that I have this delicious infused vodka in our liquor cabinet, I had to come up with a cocktail recipe that highlights it! Here's what I've come up with.

Pear and Rosemary Infused Vodka

Ingredients:

1 ounce pear and rosemary infused vodka

1/2 ounce pear nectar

chilled Prosecco

garnish: rosemary sprig

Instructions:

Add pear nectar and pear and rosemary vodka to a champagne flute or coupe. Then, top the rest of the glass with Prosecco and stir. Garnish with a rosemary sprig.

Enjoy!
